I was born in Missouri, the son of a Methodist Minister, and have lived most of my life in Minnesota. I attended the University of MN toward a degree in Radiology and worked in Willmar, Bemidji, Grand Marais, and Crosby. I've been carving for 50+ years, starting in my early 20's with encouragement from the founder of the North Home School. I am an avid outdoorsman with a passion for birds, fishing, and hunting. A long and successful career in Radiology helped support my hobbies. I carve songbirds, decoys, birds of prey, and I also create whimsical rocking toys and wall art. My work has been accepted into juried art exhibits, winning many awards, including a best-in-show award. I took 2 years off from carving when I received a pancreas transplant,
